Rodrigo Duterte, the President!

"Digong" rose to prominence as the Mayor of Davao City, Philippines. The change in Davao City from one of the most dangerous places to one of the safest is impressive. If Duterte could implement that Davao City discipline nationwide, the country will be a much better place for everyone.

He has a simple lifestyle despite being a Mayor -- he even uses an ordinary phone and wears simple clothes. Duterte lives a simpler life than most politicians.

Duterte is considered as an “outsider.” A man from Davao City, running an election against deeply-rooted rivals with deep political machinery; given that a lot of Filipinos are on Facebook right now, the movement to get Duterte elected as President seems like it comes from a grassroots movement. 16 million voted for him in the elections partly as a result of that.

Like any politician, Duterte knows all about power play and how to use situations to his advantage. He has his own ideas about what needs to be done, and he waits for no one to do it

Duterte is 71 years old, making him the oldest president this country has ever had. He said, “I cannot make this country a heaven on earth but I can assure the Filipino a comfortable life.”
